In P1 at Cygnet House we understand that the experience a child encounters in their first year of formal education has a great bearing on their future learning. We pride ourselves in ensuring that our pupils attain a vast range of knowledge in a happy, relaxed, safe and stimulating environment through a wide variety of teaching and learning experiences.
Alongside our core subjects of Literacy and Numeracy, the P1s cover wide-ranging topics each month throughout the school year. The children’s learning is further developed through use of the class interactive white board and various computer programmes.
As well as formal teaching in the classroom, pupils experience learning through play, group work and also benefit from teaching provided from the music and PE specialists in Glenlola Collegiate Grammar School. The pupils’ learning experience is further enhanced from theatre visits, cookery classes, swimming lessons and expeditions to nearby facilities.
“We believe that children who enjoy school life make eager learners!”
